The previous Ohio Union building, which opened in 1951[1], has been replaced by a new building. Demolition and construction began in 2007.[1] The new building strives to be a model facility for other universities, like the original building was when it was completed. The new union serves one of the largest student bodies in the nation. The new building is LEED certified, according to the U.S. Green Building Council. There are four dining locations that accept meal swipes, a ballroom, theater, BuckID office, and numerous meeting rooms.
